These earrings are made with hand cut, solid copper, in a tear drop shape. Verdigris is a term used to describe the coloring changes that happens when copper or brass are exposed to outdoor elements for long periods of time. Using a special technique, artist Billie Hackett is able to achieve these various and intense colors in about 24 hours.
After the desired effect is achieved, each component is coated with the highest quality clear coat to preserve color. Each component is then assembled into the the lovely jewelry you see, finished with high quality filled metals, so your piece will last for year to come.
Because of the unpredictable coloration, each piece is a one of a kind and cannot be exactly duplicated.
